For you church-goers out there, you know that basket they pass around during service? Some call it offering. Others call it giving or donations. Still others refer to it as a tithe. It's when you give some money to the church to help the church fulfill it's mission....

This is the overview page on all things kitchen. However, the kitchen category is not confined to just cooking. How we organize the kitchen, for instance, can make a difference in our nutrition. Furthermore, nutrition and the kitchen, while related, are not the same. It is prudent to parse out these categories.
The Kitchen
The kitchen is the heart of the home. Food is a social activity and where do we find it? In the kitchen. There are no shortage of kitchen appliances and devices designed to make cooking easier and the food more delicious. There are also countless kitchen hacks that can help save time, making it easier to strike balance in your life with all the other competing demands. And lastly, our kitchen is in the back of our minds when we are shopping cause food storage is always a consideration.
Game Plan
As we balance the vary stewardship opportunities the Lord has entrusted us with, we should ask for wisdom, even wisdom in the kitchen. We also need to understand that we will never eat perfectly this side of heaven. This is not an excuse to abuse our bodies with unhealthy choices. It is also not call to make an idol of what, or better yet, how we eat. If we are not careful, we will lose sight of the purpose of keeping God at the center of our fitness.
Result
When we cook, we give thanks for the sustenance. We pray for wisdom. We have a perspective of the need for balance on eating healthy vs. eating perfectly (which again, will never happen). We put ourselves in the best position for eating in a God-glorifying way, while also enjoying occasional desserts. Afterall, legalism has no place in our fitness journey.
Navigating the responsibilities to provide healthy meals while also learning when “good” is good enough can become second nature. Done right, you can have healthy food on the table and plenty of time for other areas of your life.

Fats Are Your Friend
Healthy fats help us in so many ways. Yet often times, when people decide it’s time to get skinny, they want to to give up fats, even the good kind. In an effort to be healthy and lose some weight, they go on a “diet”. I hate the word “diet.” It has a negative...
